Sometimes…

I get Nolan to actually stand still and just look.  Not say cheese or give me a super corny grin.  Sometimes he shows me the real him. And sometimes I get lucky enough to capture it…even if it is against some cinderblock :)

And sometimes the light is just perfect and Layne’s eyes reflect it beautifully – my blue eyed girl, polar opposite of my chocolate-brown-eyed boy. I’d say that sometimes she smiles, but she smiles pretty much all of the time for her mama…

The Grange with E. and E. | Philadelphia Family Photography

Have you ever met an almost-four year old that not only knows Mamma Mia but can sing you the overture to the song and keep the rhythm clapping on his hands? I have now!! I met the L. family at the Grange in Haverford for their photo session Sunday afternoon. After having to reschedule last week due to storms I was worried we would get rained out again but instead we had some beautiful (but muggy!) overcast weather to shoot in. E. and E. did great and I got some really fun photos. And E. can really sing Mamma Mia and little E. just dances and wiggles away while her big brother sings – SO cute! So there was a lot of singing, a lot of peekaboo, a lot of being silly – in other words, a typical Amy Ro session! M. and T. it was so great to meet you guys and thanks for letting me photograph your little family!!

I love everything about this picture – it is totally him :)

Rittenhouse with little L. | Philadelphia Family Photography

As I posted yesterday, I spent Saturday morning with the adorable little L and her mom and dad in Rittenhouse.  The square is very meaningful for them as they have lived there for several years now and spend a lot of time there. They even got engaged in the park, so it was really neat to be able to come full circle and do pictures with their daughter. We even got some pictures (see #1) on pretty much the exact spot that C. proposed. We sang lots of songs, played with lots of squeaky toys (highly recommend them for babies and toddlers!!), visited their favorite book store and did a lot of people watching. I feel truly lucky to have been able to photograph this adorable little family, they are clearly very in love with both each other and their little girl. So S. and C. thanks for letting me share in family time and capture some glimpses of your lives. I hope that these are all that you were hoping they would be.
