I have delayed announcing long enough! It’s settled – I will be returning to Philadelphia from Friday June 25-Monday June 28. I am coming to town to do two newborn sessions for past clients (yippee!!!!!) but have decided to add slots for three family sessions ONLY. The sessions can be Friday evening, Saturday morning or evening and Sunday morning or evening. (For your reference morning sessions start at 9, evening sessions start between 5:00-6:00.

The first session of my marathon weekend was with the beautiful C. and family in downtown Philadelphia. I got to do C.’s newborn pictures and saw her last year about this same time for photos. And now this year. It has been SO great to see her grow up. She continues to just be a beautiful little girl And the rest of her family ain’t bad either!!

I met the C. family yesterday morning in Center City for the first of my mini shoots in Philadelphia this weekend. Three girls – 12, 10 and 8 and they were WONDERFUL!! We started by discussing the previous night’s Flyers game so, as a sports fan, I knew it was going to go well! I also got the coolest shot ever – I made them jump in front of these three gorgeous doors on, of all things, the Wachovia Bank right on Broad street. Thankfully even at those ages they weren’t too cool to do it because I LOVE the resulting shot We also did some shots around Old City and got some great gorgeous pictures. Thanks so much girls (and mom for getting in a few, and dad for chauffeuring) for coming to hang out with me on a chilly morning. Hope you like seeing yourselves on here!!

I had my last and final session in Philadelphia tonight....

I had my last and final session in Philadelphia tonight. This session was originally supposed to happen three weeks ago or so but weather and hockey playoffs delayed us not once, not twice, not three times but four or five times. So finally tonight the D. family and I got together. It was very fitting though that K. and her family were my last session. I have been photographing K. since she was pregnant with little J.

I also did J.’s newborn session

And I also did a holiday session with the whole family. So it makes sense that I ended my time in Philadelphia with them as well. Photography is about capturing moments in your life forever. It’s what I love, it’s what I do. And to be able to do it over and over for a family is perhaps the coolest thing ever. This last session saw little J. a bit over a year old and taking his first steps – in fact tonight was the first time he was walking continuously! K. decided she wanted a more urban feel and urban is exactly what she got. J. and D. were WONDERFUL to photograph as always. I can’t believe how easy this family is!! It also made sense that I ended with urban since I did spend the last four years of my life living in the city. I left these all in color for this sneak peek because, well, LOOK at the color in them!!! And there are more here because, well, I can do that

After only having one session at the Art Museum in...

After only having one session at the Art Museum in 18 months, I did two in one day. Sunday early evening I met D. and his family in the Art Museum area for some family photos. We started on Boathouse Row and worked our way back down to the cliffs overlooking the Schuylkill. The lighting and color was just beautiful which is why all of these sneak peeks are in color We had a really fun time watching me make a fool of myself on Kelly Drive. If you saw some chick dancing, singing at the top of her lungs and hopping that was me! (Well, if she had a camera that was me, if not it was just one of the other fine Philly citizens.) D. was a trooper through it all, which doesn’t often (ever) happen with almost-eighteen-month-olds. Thanks for letting me join in your family afternoon, S. and O. I hope you enjoy the photos!!

S. and N. met me at the Art Museum Sunday...

S. and N. met me at the Art Museum Sunday morning for some pictures of K. As I said in yesterday’s post, three of the four families have either been using me since maternity, or since the child was a baby. K. was one where we started off when he was just eight or so months old! (In fact that first session I think we hung out drinking coffee and talking more than shooting!) And now he is a running, jumping, laughing, adorable two year old. This is my fourth session with the family and every time I swear he just gets cuter and cuter!! We had a great time and did a LOT of walking. I saw parts of the Art Museum area I didn’t know existed! We played in fountains and wishing wells and sang songs and tickled. Because of the early start we also basically had the museum to ourselves which allowed me to grab the first photo – and as you can see, the sky was SUCH a gorgeous blue for part of the shoot as well.

S. and N. thank you SO much for inviting me into your lives all of these times. I have had a BLAST hanging out with you and watching K. grow with you. I hope I have been able to capture him the way that you see him

As I posted yesterday, I spent Saturday morning with the adorable little L and her mom and dad in Rittenhouse. The square is very meaningful for them as they have lived there for several years now and spend a lot of time there. They even got engaged in the park, so it was really neat to be able to come full circle and do pictures with their daughter. We even got some pictures (see #1) on pretty much the exact spot that C. proposed. We sang lots of songs, played with lots of squeaky toys (highly recommend them for babies and toddlers!!), visited their favorite book store and did a lot of people watching. I feel truly lucky to have been able to photograph this adorable little family, they are clearly very in love with both each other and their little girl. So S. and C. thanks for letting me share in family time and capture some glimpses of your lives. I hope that these are all that you were hoping they would be.

I started photographing S. when he just was three months old. He was my baby planner – photos at 3, 6, 9 and then 12 months. Unfortunately we had to keep putting off the 12 month photos but now that he is 21 months we finally were able to get together. I feel as though R & S have really become friends over the past year and a half and I look forward to every time I get to photograph their beautiful family. I have captured some wonderful and amazing images in our sessions… This time we took it downtown to the Independence Hall area. I could not believe how much S. had changed – from a baby to a boy. And I feel SO lucky to have had the privilege to capture those moments for his family.

My how things have changed

Some fun and funky urban editing but it really appealed to me – doesn’t it look like a magazine ad?
