I have always loved this quote and found it particularly appropriate for the wedding that I shot last weekend with Kristina (click HERE for her photos).  Monica and Todd first met when they were little and though Todd would move away, their families would remain connected and intertwined through friendship of older sisters.  And when Monica and Todd were reintroduced years later by those same sisters, the path that would eventually unite both families together forever began.  Through times of great joy and great sorrow, these two families have been joined.  And last Saturday, they became joined in a most official, delightful, beautiful and loving way.

It was a perfect, wonderful, amazing day.

There were laughs (lots), tears and a multitude of smiles.  And when the sun was setting over Boston and the light came streaming in through the windows of the roof deck at the Taj I believe a very special angel was looking down on these two and sending a whole bunch of love and blessings on their day and their new life together.

Monica and Todd I am so so happy for you two.  Enjoy each and every moment together.

Engaging | Rhode Island Wedding Photography

I really am supposed to be blogging a wedding today.  But I just have so many images to pull together from it that I am passing it over for some shots from last night’s engagement session with the gorgeous Jessica and Sean instead.  Shhhhh.

After coming off of the amazing wedding on Saturday, I headed back up to Boston from Providence last night (I’ve been to Boston four times in the past three years – twice in the past three days – crazy!) to meet up with Kristina and do a walk through with Jessica and Sean.   Turns out that though they live in Boston, Jessica is from right here in RI – in fact it’s only about five minutes from where I am that she grew up.  (I say it over and over, New England is crazy small.)  We had gorgeous weather and of course had to take a few photos of them throughout the evening.  I discovered “that line of bricks” which turned out to be the Freedom Trail (history is not my strong suit) made for a delighful photo as did some other locations on the walk from their place to their wedding location.

It is going to be an AMAZING day, I can already tell.  Not only do we have gorgeous, adorable couple, but we have a stunning location.  Kristina and I have some ideas for photos that we can’t wait to do and I have a few shots of the groomsmen planned in my head so if we can all think good 75 degrees and sunny thoughts for August 21 I’d greatly appreciate it.  ;)

Jessica and Sean it was wonderful to meet you last night – we are SO looking forward to your wedding!!

(Head over to Kristina’s blog for her perspective!)

Crista and Charles in Love | Rhode Island Photography

When I first announced that I wanted to try a few couples shoots, my friend Crista from Crista Acosta Photography down in CT contacted me about a session for her and her husband, Charles.  At first it started off jokingly, but then when I responded that I would LOVE to shoot them, she got serious ;)   Thank GOODNESS for that because not only did I finally get to meet Charles after hearing about him for, oh, about two years but I got to photograph a truly beautiful couple in one of the most gorgeous locations I have ever shot in.  (Though I freely admit, all three of my couples are gorgeous!)  Crista and Charles had just celebrated ten years of being together a few days earlier and have been married for three of those years with two incredibly gorgeous little boys to show for it as well as one beautiful little girl.

We met this past week at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT for a beauuuutiful evening light session.  I want to only shoot in the evening.  And at this park!  Hahaha.  Okay, seriously, though – I could have spent all evening shooting there.  And the light?  Well, the light just gets SO gorgeous if you are willing to wait it out and stay a little longer.  We did gardens, buildings and then finished on the beach.  And thank goodness Crista is also a photographer because we shared a brain.  She knew exactly what I was talking about, she saw places the same way I did, they were down for anything (including laying in the sand and posing outside of a bathroom) and she had ideas of her own that were just brought to life beautifully.  I had a DELICIOUSLY wonderful time with them (minus the bug in my salad at the restaurant with them – not so delicious).

And if you want chemistry?  These two have got it.  In spades.  They embody everything I was hoping for when I started doing this.  Two people with no real special reason other than to celebrate in photographs how much they love each other and what an absolutely AMAZING life they have made together. :)
