I don’t know if I am even supposed to share these, technically. But you know what, I am. I don’t really care. 🙂 Last weekend I got to go take some pictures of the gorgeous Audrey McClelland for a website that she is joining as the newest featured blogger (you’ve seen her on here before!). The company asked for family shots and some shots of just her. So out I went early Saturday morning and we did some lovely shots of all of the kids and her along with her husband, Matt (who is a fellow Steelers fan living in Pats country, yippee!) With four boys under seven, I could not have ASKED for a better, easier shoot. They were adorable and perfect. The next evening, Matt started experiencing horrible stomach pains; he told Audrey it was like razor blades. They took him to the ER thinking it was appendicitis or a really bad stomach bug. After doing some tests and scans the news came back – a tumor by the colon. He was taken into surgery the next day and the doctors removed a grapefruit sized tumor and resected part of his lower bowel and colon. While they are still waiting for the full official biopsy reports, Audrey just said that it looks preliminarily like it is NOT cancer. I have cried many times over this in the past week. Matt is only 37. With four gorgeous boys under seven and a sweet, beautiful wife. Hearing that news from Audrey today was one of the best things I have heard in a very, very long time. So as I said. I’m not sure if I’m even supposed to share these. But with this news I am too happy NOT to share. This is such a reminder to hug your loved ones. Tell them you love them. Treasure every. single. moment.
This post made me cry too!! I have been thinking about Audrey and Matt and their family literally non stop since last Monday. Same exact thoughts, Amy. I was so happy to read her post today about the preliminary reports. I feel like so many times recently there is only BAD news. This news–and seeing their beautiful pictures– made me so happy! Good reminder to be thankful everyday.
A close friend of mine lost her 4 year old son yesterday morning in a farm accident. She said to me… Hug your kids. EVERYDAY. Such an incredible reminder.
Amy… You captured this perfect moment in time for us. Thank you so much. Love these and you’re right… every single moment counts. Cherish them all.
Thanks for the update, Amy. Although I don’t know this family, I’ve been thinking about & praying for them since I first read about the daddy being rushed to surgery.

Amy thank you for sharing these pictures – we are friends of the family and like you have cried and prayed all week – these photos are amazing and capture the spirit of each of them so well.
