Life. Laughter. Love. Emotion. Family.

For all eighteen years of my business, these words have been my compass — my keywords, my tagline, if you will. They were part of my very first logo, and they still appear at the end of every client video I create. I’ve tried to let them go, but I just can’t. And I think I know why. At the end of the day, they represent the most important elements I strive to capture in every single portrait. If I’m being honest, they also happen to describe me and my approach to life pretty perfectly.

I’ve been married for 21 years and I’m a mom of three — one in college, one in high school, and one in middle school. So those words? Yeah… my home is absolutely full of them.

The Amy Ro side of me is a seeker — always chasing moments layered with emotion and love. In newborn sessions, I’m drawn to those quiet, awe-filled pauses when you can’t stop staring at this incredible human you created… or the laughter that erupts when they immediately poop in the diaper you just changed. In my young family photo sessions, it’s all tickles and giggles, flying through the air, blowing raspberries, pure joy. With older kids, it’s the belly laughs, the soft snuggles, the quiet touches. Reading books. Running barefoot in the sand. The loud moments and the tender ones.

And then there are senior sessions — kids standing right on the edge of everything changing; no longer little, not quite grown. I’m drawn to capturing those last traces of childhood — the ease, the laughter, the softness — alongside the confidence, strength, and anticipation of who they’re becoming. It’s about freezing time just for a moment, before life speeds up, and honoring exactly who they are right now.

All of this – this is what makes my heart sing. This is what I love photographing more than anything in the world.

I truly adore what I do. It’s my passion and my creative outlet. I’m unapologetically obsessive about my art, pouring every ounce of my perfectionism into shooting, editing, and producing a collection of images that are both beautiful and deeply meaningful — images that tell your story. I live for the moments that unfold between you and your people — and nothing makes me happier than knowing those moments live on in images you will truly adore.
