1. I leave for Philadelphia tomorrow for a whirlwind weekend of sessions and I can’t wait!! Five family sessions and a session for a very good friend. All in a little over 24 hours. And that’s on top of driving down Friday night and back Sunday night. I am going to be one SUPER tired lady come Monday morning!! BUT I will have plenty of photos to share 😉

2. Speaking of tired, since the time change both kids have decided that 5:50-6:00 is a FANTASTIC wake up time. Before the change, they had been waking up between 7 and 7:15. I cannot be the only person with this problem can I? Darned early morning light!

3. I cannot believe I am already this.close to the end of the year!! It has just flown by. Last session is my wedding on the 28th with possibly a maternity in the first week of December. Then that’s it!

4. You may have noticed password-protected slideshow posts on the blog. This is something new that I have implemented as part of your client experience. I am proud to announce that I have joined the modern day world and partnered with Animoto. Every client will now have a custom slideshow set to music to view before they get their full proofing gallery. It’s a great way to share your photos with family and friends all over! Down the road I also plan to include video in the slideshows if I can ever get my act together.  I’ve included a nice example at the end for my #10.  No, that’s NOT cheating.

5. I got to meet with the fabulous Amy Blau, publisher of The Baby Guide, yesterday for something that you’ll see tomorrow 😉 Let’s just say I am SUPER excited!

6. Have you started thinking about photos for next year?  It’s never too early.  I will be accepting bookings for January, February and March starting in a few weeks.  The winter and early spring are the perfect time for newborn sessions.  So if you are pregnant or know someone who is, definitely keep a newborn session in mind.  And remember that each booked referral gets you a $50 credit for use at a future session for yourself!

7.  I am looking into some new product offerings for the new year that I am very excited about.  A gorgeous, high end album and some beautiful new mounting options for wall displays.  Yum!!

8.  We are going to be cat owners once again after this weekend!  When we moved here (we rent due to the time constraints of Fellowship) we were told that we couldn’t bring the cats.  SO after much heartache and soul-searching we placed our one cat with a great family and placed our other cat with a foster family.  That foster family was unable to keep her and we found out recently after more discussion that we COULD, in fact, have her.  So I will be returning from Philadelphia with our one cat.  I am SO happy.  Now we are just hoping after four months, she remembers us.  And forgives us.  And isn’t too scared of the monster baby 😉

9.  Speaking of monster baby, she has progressed from scooting to flat out taking steps.  Granted, it’s with her push-toy but she did two whole laps around the downstairs without my help today.  I was right behind her but not helping. And tonight we were walking her back and forth between us and there was one pass where she took two or three steps on her own without holding onto anything.  I am, however, in denial of that.  I refuse to believe she can possibly be that big.  Nolan didn’t walk until 14 or 15 months.  She’s 10.  Oy!

10.  Okay, I lied.  The video is #11.   Shhhhh…don’t tell, but I have a new website in the making.  New design, bigger pictures and new music.  I am slowly building it up.  Can’t wait to show it to you!!!!

11. And last, but not least, the video. Check it out! I think it comes in at about 3 minutes long but it’s definitely fun and worth watching!  Oh and the words are not supposed to match up with the pictures, I just spaced them out in there among them 🙂

That’s all for today!

This week I am going for the pink 🙂  I found this adorable outfit from Janie & Jack for a little girl and fell in LOVE with the little brown capelet!!  (I must have this for Layne.  I think I can fit her chub underneath…I also think Matt is going to soon start hating when I do my What to Wear searches)  So I went from there to mom.  And for mom, the highlight in my mind is the gooooorgeous pair of brown flat boots by Modern Vintage.  I just love them.  Very sensible with kids because they are flat, but still very classy and a little sexy.  And every mom should feel a little sexy, especially when they get their pictures taken!  I paired that with a nice dark denim skirt and a pale pink sweater.  Then a nice chunky brown sweater with a pale pink striped shirt and khaki/olive pants for dad and a brown and ivory sweater with jeans for a boy.  Different shades of brown and pink, but it all pulls together nicely.

I ended Friday with a shoot wayyyy out in the woods (as mom said) with the most adorable little six month old!! (And at a great property too – I told mom and dad I was going to rent it for shoots!) Miss M. was totally cute, chubby, happy, perfect.  I love shooting 6-12 month olds – they are just the perfect age. They aren’t scared of the camera yet, they can usually sit on their own, they can stand holding hands and most importantly, they can’t get away from you. That is the true secret joy of photographing that age 😉  You can put them somewhere and they can’t move so it’s great!  Seriously though, it’s just a really delightful age.   And mom and dad were just too cute.  You could tell that they totally love their little girl and that she is the center of their world.  I love seeing families like this.  I love families of four and five (I mean heck, I am a family of four) but with a family of three there is this intimacy that you kind of lose once you have more children.  And I love seeing that.  The looks, the tickles, the grins, everything.  A. and C. I had a great time with you guys.  I did make it home safely through all of the curves.  I can’t wait for the dairy farm!!!!!

So as I posted on Saturday I began my Friday morning with the gorgeous Miss M. and her equally beautiful little sister, I. in downtown Providence.  Their mom, E. is the owner of the fabulous Weddingbelle NYC bridal shoppe in Warren and found me though a local board that we are both on.  Unfortunately little I. was feeling a bit under the weather and apparently had been so excited for our shoot that she had been awake since 3:30 in the morning.  SO, I’ll be going back to have another little session with just her in the next week or two.  But we still had a great time anyways and did manage to squeeze in some shots with her before she fell asleep snuggled up to daddy.

You know it’s going to be good when the girls show up in matching Daily Tea dresses and mom shows up looking like she just stepped off of a runway in a gorgeous coat from Rue La La (by the way, E., it’s www.theminisocial.com 😉 )  We were all over the park next to Hemenway’s in downtown, playing peekaboo, tossing leaves, singing Taylor Swift, etc (yes, this is the first time I have sung Taylor Swift on a shoot!!).  I am sure there is a name for the park, but we just referred to it as that.  It was my first “urban” shoot here in Providence and I think I could grow to like it!   Thanks you guys for coming out on a less-than-warm morning, enjoy your sneak peek!!

Gorgeous girls

I. is at the stage that Layne was a month or two ago where she is just constantly babbling and cooing and seems to be telling you stories.  I love that I caught her doing it 🙂E2

Mommy snuggles.  Love E.’s expression here, total love for her daughter.

No matter how big they seem to be getting, you are still reminded some times of just how very little and precious they still really are 🙂

I ended my Friday with the most adorable six month old.  Little M was so cute and so perfectly squeezable!  And I loved the outfit that mom chose for her.  If you know my work you know I love color.  I love black and white photos as well (especially newborns) but I looooove color 🙂  So just one for now.  I love love love her little face here – the round cheeks, the pop of color, the eyes, the expression.  What can I say, I am also a sucker for cute little hoods on babies!  Everything!
