As our move date looms closer and closer (less than two weeks now!!) it is time for me to buckle down and get packing.  Due to this, I am asking that if you need ANYTHING from me, you need to ask before this Thursday morning, June 11th.  After that time we are going up to Providence to do some advance work and then next week is going to be crazy with packing, cleaning, Matt’s residency graduation and of course the move itself.

**After this Thursday I will essentially be unplugging until after our move is completed. This also means any galleries past their date will be closed.**

If you need anything from me and do not let me know by Thursday morning it will not happen until after we are up and running from our move — this will be July 1 at the earliest.  Also, if you have any outstanding payments and you are paying by check, the check should be sent as soon as possible as we will not be receiving any mail after the 20th.

As always, if you have any questions, just let me know!

See you in Providence!!!!!

🙂

After only having one session at the Art Museum in 18 months, I did two in one day.  Sunday early evening I met D. and his family in the Art Museum area for some family photos.  We started on Boathouse Row and worked our way back down to the cliffs overlooking the Schuylkill.  The lighting and color was just beautiful which is why all of these sneak peeks are in color 🙂   We had a really fun time watching me make a fool of myself on Kelly Drive.  If you saw some chick dancing, singing at the top of her lungs and hopping that was me!  (Well, if she had a camera that was me, if not it was just one of the other fine Philly citizens.)  D. was a trooper through it all, which doesn’t often (ever) happen with almost-eighteen-month-olds.  Thanks for letting me join in your family afternoon, S. and O.  I hope you enjoy the photos!!

S. and N. met me at the Art Museum Sunday morning for some pictures of K.  As I said in yesterday’s post, three of the four families have either been using me since maternity, or since the child was a baby.  K. was one where we started off when he was just eight or so months old!  (In fact that first session I think we hung out drinking coffee and talking more than shooting!)  And now he is a running, jumping, laughing, adorable two year old.  This is my fourth session with the family and every time I swear he just gets cuter and cuter!!  We had a great time and did a LOT of walking.  I saw parts of the Art Museum area I didn’t know existed!  We played in fountains and wishing wells and sang songs and tickled.  Because of the early start we also basically had the museum to ourselves which allowed me to grab the first photo – and as you can see, the sky was SUCH a gorgeous blue for part of the shoot as well.

S. and N. thank you SO much for inviting me into your lives all of these times.  I have had a BLAST hanging out with you and watching K. grow with you.  I hope I have been able to capture him the way that you see him 🙂

Growing up

Well, this was my last weekend shooting sessions in Philadelphia.  I can’t believe it – it has come so quickly!!!  I was so excited when I realized that three out of my four sessions this weekend were clients that I had either photographed since they were pregnant or since their child was just a baby.  It is one of the highest compliments to a photographer when your clients want you to keep coming back and photographing their family.  And I feel so SO honored that so many people have chosen me to document points in their lives.  Watching a child grow up through the lens is one of the top five reasons I love love LOVE my job.

K. is a member of my photo board that I first met back when she was pregnant and I did her maternity shoot…you may remember these shots

I also got to photograph little A. right after he was born.

And to start my weekend, we went back to the place we did the majority of their maternity shoot and I got to photograph A. at just over six months old. He is growing into SUCH a beautiful boy with eyes just to die for. I also got what I think is one of my most favorite shots ever with K. and A. K. and D. thank you so much for making me a part of your lives over the past year. 🙂

I get Nolan to actually stand still and just look.  Not say cheese or give me a super corny grin.  Sometimes he shows me the real him. And sometimes I get lucky enough to capture it…even if it is against some cinderblock 🙂

And sometimes the light is just perfect and Layne’s eyes reflect it beautifully – my blue eyed girl, polar opposite of my chocolate-brown-eyed boy. I’d say that sometimes she smiles, but she smiles pretty much all of the time for her mama…
