The S family contacted me to photograph their second child’s newborn portraits. I’ve worked with them once before and was thrilled to hear they were expecting again and wanted me to document it! They had their second girl, named Ellie. We scheduled an in-home newborn session at their Attleboro home.
In my last two posts I have talked about coordinating family session outfits and how to choose shoes (something seemingly little but easily changing the entire look of an image). While these posts will work for almost all general family sessions, some sessions will need a different approach. Like what to wear for a newborn session?? Though in a family session you are going for a cohesive look for everyone and not one person is really the star of the show, that is not the case in a newborn session. That newborn is the star of the show, hands down. 🙂 And you want all of the outfits to center around that.
The M family contacted me wanting to schedule a family session during their vacation on Cape Cod. I’ve known mom, Helen, for years and was thrilled to get the chance to have some fun with her family on the beach! I was able to schedule them and we began planning their beach family session right away.
The O Family reached out to me to schedule a newborn session. This was my first time working with them; I love gaining new clients! Mom and I talked about what they envisioned for newborn and family portraits. She loved the idea of an in-home newborn session. We also talked about possibly stepping outside for a few photos pending the weather that day. One of the perks of an in-home session is the possibility of some outdoor photos!
I’ve been working with the S family since 2011. I’ve captured so many sessions with them and have loved watching their girls grow up! They contacted me wanting to plan a session at their home and the nearby marina.
The weather was perfect the day of their session. It was a beautiful day! I met them at their new home they just had built. We began their session in their home and outside in their yard. Their girls are so well-behaved but also love to have fun! I made sure I captured them playing outside and on the swings.
