Nine day old newborn beauty
Last week I headed down to Pawtucket to photograph Ava, a nine day old newborn beauty. As was evidenced by the signs on the door (which, on a side note, made it SUPER easy to find their house!) she is clearly a very loved baby girl. Mom and dad were totally awesome as well. (Not only because dad went to Syracuse like me but just in general.) We got some beautiful images of just Ava, images with each of them individually, and images of all three as a family that just made my heart melt. One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing new families. Obviously couples are families. But when you add in that new tiny person – seeing that dynamic?? Awesome. And Ava and her mom and dad were a perfect, loving example of that. Here are a few of my favorite images from our in-home session together. Enjoy! 🙂

Jen and Richie’s Couples Session
Back in early December I flew down to Florida to visit one of my good girlfriends, Jen from Jennifer Mauren Photography for a few days. We were having a girls’ weekend as well as shooting a few newborns together in her awesome home studio. While there, I did a couples session for Jen and her husband Richie. Couples sessions are something I don’t get to shoot very often. It’s funny – I have no interest in doing weddings as a regular part of my job but I absolutely love photographing couples. It’s outside of my normal newborns and babies but still focused on the love and emotion between people. Jen and Richie certainly made it so very, very easy. All of these images were shot in their front yard, where I discovered Florida light was an absolutely beautiful, magical thing. Very different than New England light, I’ll say that! Between the light and the two of them, it was an amazing evening <3
