Every once in a while I get someone contacting me to do a session with older kids. I am always thrilled to do it because it is so out of the norm for me. Granted, I have my silly songs and stuff down and I love love love working with little kids and babies, but older kids = F.U.N. I was a high school teacher in my previous life for five years so I have some experience with teens and a little younger. So when D. contacted me for some family photos of her four kids I was really excited. She told me what she was looking for and I suggested Borderland Park up in Easton – my absolutely favorite location for photos. So last Thursday on a chilly Veteran’s day, the kids and mom hopped into the car and made the drive up to Easton to meet me for photos. Now let me tell you, I hear 10 to 14 years old and I expect small kids. Not so – four gorgeous kids all looking older than they were (and some taller than me) got out of that car and were an absolute delight to photograph. Though I definitely have lost my touch in communicating with teens (dude, they’re hard!) it was still an awesome time. If I asked them to sit, they sat, if I asked them to smile, they gave me beautiful natural smiles. Love!!! They even jumped when mom and I asked nicely if they would jump 😉
I have been under the weather these past few days and as a result, I know mom has been waiting for these, so I could write more about how great they did, but I won’t. It was great to meet you guys! Enjoy 🙂
Growing Up | Rhode Island Family photography
Two of my favorite newborn images ever came from baby C’s newborn session way back in March of this year and if you follow my work at all you definitely remember them.
This past Sunday, her mom and dad brought this absolutely gorgeous baby doll to meet me again. Gone is the teeny tiny baby, in it’s place is a stunningly beautiful (still little) peanut of an almost-eight month old. And gone are newborn images, but in it’s place, some new favorites 🙂 Just two today, because it was a mini!

Seriously. I have awesome clients. We’ve talked about this before. I really really do, and I count my lucky stars every time I see them, or get new ones. I happen to have some clients who also have incredible style. The M. family is no exception to this. As the owner of the gorgeous and uber-stylish Wedding Belle NYC it never surprises me when E. shows up with her outfits and the outfits for her girls (and dad). This year for their mini session was no exception. As usual, the perfect, magazine-ready family. 🙂 And so freaking cute, too – all of them. They braved the cold Sunday morning temperatures and wind for some family photos and I am loving what we got 🙂 
Fall family fun | Rhode Island Family Photography
Last year the R. family met me for a holiday mini session at Roger Williams. This time they did a full session and threw in a new beautiful little baby girl to boot. (Not newborn, just new to me!) They braved a brisk Saturday morning and invading college cross country runners who were using Colt State as their championship location. (Who knew!?) This meant that I had to compete for attention with the giant buses that kept driving past – do you know how much three year old boys like buses?? 😉 Luckily I think I held my own, the kids mostly held their own in the cold and mom and dad did great as usual. It was so great seeing you guys again! And remember – next year – August!!!
