I met up with Mr. W. and his family this past Sunday evening.  What a glorious evening for photos!!  The light was perfect, the clothes were perfect, and W. was absolutely a joy to photograph.  He was so cute and so happy (and he really liked me, which helps a LOT).  I absolutely love the richness of these photos in this location and this light AND the love of this family for each other.  So, a bunch of extras…..

I stopped about six photos into this session, turned to mom and dad and said something along the lines of “Are you serious???  I. Love. Your. Kids.”   I fully admit there have been a handful of kids over the past six plus years that might have thrown a tantrum or two or possibly cried their way through an entire session.  But J. and G. were AMAZING.  Not only were they adorable (and very well dressed, mom, great job!) but they LOVED having their photos taken and were so natural in front of the camera.  I immediately felt like I had known them forever and was comfortably talking about ninjago legos and trying to talk about strawberry shortcake (I’m more familiar with My Little Pony) and making silly faces right along with them in record time.  It was just a very wonderful, natural, instantaneous fit between them and me.  In a change from my norm, mom and dad only hopped in one or two quick photos (after much urging from me and the kids) so I am not going to share those here.  This was mainly about brother and sister.  And what an awesome relationship the two of them clearly have.  🙂  We started in the early evening and shot until the sun started to set so I absolutely am LOVING the really rich light in the last shot on the wall – that was our celebratory “all done!” shot!

R. family it was an ABSOLUTE pleasure getting to hang out with you for a while, I hope you love these as much as I do!

This is the fourth year I’ve photographed this family…but not the last.  We’ve already made arrangements for me to come back from Connecticut next fall!  I have absolutely LOVED watching these kids grow up in front of my camera – something that is just an honor to be invited back over and over to do.  I cannot believe how big they are now, we started when the youngest was just a gummy, drooly, super happy 3 month old.  And now – beautiful children and a beautiful family.  When mom asked for a morning beach session it was definitely outside of my norm as I usually only do evenings at the beach.  But we started at 8am and the light was fabulous – and having an empty beach with what turned out to be a gorgeous, warm, sunny day didn’t hurt things, either.
