Well, if you were following along with the comments on Facebook or here on the blog, I am guessing that the winning images are not going to be a surprise.  😉  The winner ran away with the vote, winning by over 100 votes.  But second place was decided by three (3!!) votes!!!

Jack – 14 Days | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

I had my very first session back after shoulder surgery last week.  I will admit, I was a little nervous about it!  Would I easily slip back into the groove, would my shoulder hold up, would my equipment be too heavy?  Luckily, Jack and his mom and dad made it incredibly easy on me.  They win the award for most relaxed, well-adjusted first time parents ever.  Ever.  And I have met many, many first time parents.  (Their siamese cat, Piper was not so relaxed – she watched me the entire time!)  Sweet little Jack was 14 days old the day of our session – right on that cusp of being sleepy and being awake.  He did awesome and gave us some great shots of both!!  And he had all of those newborn details, the flaky skin, the wrinkles, the fuzzy shoulders….ahhh….how I missed it so.  Today, an extra huge sneak peek for my first one back.  Two more newborns in the next two weeks coming up, yay!  I’m back.  🙂

2012 Fan Favorite Photo – The Finalists!


All righty.  Over 700 votes and you’ve narrowed it down to 10.  Now to decide which is the favorite of the year.  Just a reminder there will be two winners for this contest!

Matteo | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

Eeeeks!!  I haven’t blogged in I don’t know how long.  But with shoulder surgery, I was pretty out of commission quite a while longer than I was anticipating…in fact I am debating writing a post called “how to survive shoulder arthroscopy with repair”  BUT today is my first day “back” so here I am, all shiny and new with some sutures and scars.  😉

Although Matteo is now almost three months old and his parents have had these images for quite a while, I am finally getting some images from his session up here!  Matteo was the second baby for this family who I *adore.*  We did his session when he was just 11 days old and he was perfect.  And mom and dad were still so much fun.  And big brother was adorable.  It was a great morning.  (And as a side note, I think I am going to do a photo of just mom and dad at every session because let’s face it, after your wedding when do you really take a nice photo of just the two of you???  It was dad’s idea for a photo for his desk – loved it!!)   <3

 

Bryleigh – 13 Days | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

Although we did big sister’s four year old photos back in August, Bryleigh had a few more weeks to bake!   After she decided to wait a few extra days and be an October baby, I headed out to do her newborn session last week.  She was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful dark blue eyes and blonde hair.  And she was a great sleeper for me too, though she did give me a few minutes of eye contact as well.    And like most siblings I encounter, this big sister was not the hugest fan of a new small baby, but even the most hesitant can usually be convinced to lay still for some beautiful photos, which we most definitely got.  We even got dad involved in a few shots!!  Yay dad!  😉  It was so great seeing you, W family!!  Best of luck with your move in a few weeks!!!
