Chase – 9 Days old | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

When mom emailed to let me know that she was pregnant with baby number 2, I got super super excited.  And fine, I will totally admit that it was because we got dad to take off his shirt and do a shot with his first daughter and his amazing tattoo on his arm.  Still one of my favorites.  This time around, it was a precious little boy.  But dad still took his shirt off.  But adding to that shot that I fell in love with, I also had big sister M. to work with this time.  Now, as I said in my Facebook post, you never know what you are going to get with toddler siblings.  That shot of a toddler and a newborn can be one of the THE hardest shots ever.  Thankfully though, M just adored her new baby brother, as you can tell.  <3  The entire family, I think, was smitten and it’s easy to see why!  I am including just a few extras with this sneak peek.  (I think not being able to share more shots from my holiday minis has gotten to me!)  Enjoy the photos, V. family.  I hope I lived up to expectations again!!

Jake – Eight Days | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

I got to meet this sweet little guy last week as one of three of my newborns that were born within 24 hours.  (Three!!)  At 8 days he was my youngest and at a little under six pounds he was also my smallest ::love::  He was just perfection from his tiny fingers all the way to his tiny toes and an absolutely fabulous sleeper.  And mom and dad were so good with him.  Your first baby is exciting, wonderful, stressful and exhausting – it runs the gamut of every emotion.  But they are doing amazingly well with it.  🙂   I am running on empty at the moment with the third newborn in a row this morning.  SO I am going to stop here and just let you all enjoy handsome Jake!!  Congratulations again, D. family – he is perfection.

Julia | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

When strangers hire me to take their photos, that is pretty cool. But when people we know hire me, that, for some reason, is extra special. As has been mentioned here before, my husband is an OB-Gyn at a local hospital here in Rhode Island. His partner and her husband just had a beautiful baby girl a few weeks early and hired me to come do photos of her at their house.  Julia was a teeny five pounds at birth, and a shade under six when we did her session.  She was just perfection in a tinier little bundle!  She gave us some awake time in the beginning and then drifted off to sleep, curling and laying beautifully for me both in her parents arms and in different poses.  It was an absolute honor and privilege to photograph their new little family of three.  So, without further ado…

Kayleigh | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

In one of the many collisions of worlds we have here in little RI, Kayleigh’s mommy knew me both from people she went to high school with AND her college neighbor (neither of which knew the other!).  Both had used me for sessions so when she got pregnant she knew she wanted a session as well!  We’ve been planning this since about her twelfth week of pregnancy so I hope I lived up to her expectations.  🙂  Kayleigh was absolutely beautiful (check out those lips!) and a fabulous sleeper after giving us some nice alert and awake family time for the beginning of the shoot.   I think my favorite? Francesca | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

When I did this family’s first newborn session 19 months ago, I fell in love with them (and their bedroom).  They were so sweet and so loving and funny and laid back – I knew they would be amazing parents.
