Maternity Photos Rhode Island | Bonnet Shores Sunset Session
Maternity photos are such a fun thing to photograph and today I have an absolutely beautiful session for you. As a special treat, this is the first of three sessions we did together. First we did these maternity photos you’ll see here, then we did a Fresh 48 hospital session, and finally we did a newborn session at their home. Both will be coming shortly here so make sure you check back!
I met up with N and J (and their dog Birdy!) for their session on a chilly evening at the beach in Bonnet Shores. When we got there we basically had it to ourselves – something that almost never happens for beach sessions!! We had the most beautiful light, not only rich golden setting sun and hazy sunset skies but we also ended up having the most beautiful pastels after sunset. N was absolutely glowing!!! One of the reasons I do sessions at between 32-34 weeks is to capture exactly this glow. It’s after the belly has popped, but before it drops making you more uncomfortable. This way you can easily walk and stand for the duration of our session together.
We began when the sun was still a bit high so I could capture some soft backlit images of N and J walking on the beach. N’s choice of wrap dress was perfect not only for her pregnant belly, but also for the setting. I love when clients choose colors that compliment their hair and skin tone AND scenery so well! (And J was so handsome in a sweater and jacket – I would never have thought to pair those two but it worked beautifully!) As the evening progressed we moved into some direct just absolutely golden sun that seemed to bathe them and their baby. Finally after getting in the water for some images, N changed into a soft pink lace dress which perfectly symbolized their baby girl on the way. It was such an incredible evening!!
