Beautiful Friend | Rhode Island Maternity Photography

When I lived and worked in Philadelphia, I was lucky enough to meet and become very good friends with Bernadette of Bernadette Uzcategui Photography.  We did trades on photos and she was one of the people I could swap stories with that understood where I was coming from.  We had many discussions over cookies and coffee and drinks over the years!   If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ve definitely seen her with her adorable little family on here a few times.  I miss her dearly now that we are in RI.  But this past weekend when I was in Philly, we reconnected for dinner.  She and her husband are now expecting baby number two, a little girl, in a little over a month and she looks absolutely adorable!!  When we were at dinner we discussed meeting the next morning for some maternity photos before I left town.  In driving around the area near my hotel I had discovered this beautiful park with fields and a few neat little features.  So early the next morning she and her family picked me up and off we went.  It was a quick shoot, probably only 30-45 minutes but it was perfect.   Shooting for a fellow photographer is nerve wracking.  But shooting for a friend who is a photographer is amazing because I know I can do whatever I’d like and have total creative control.  And she gets what I am trying to do.  :)  She is such a beautiful person inside and out and there is so much love in this family…I can only hope that it shines through here in this quick group of photos.On-location maternity photography with sibling. Mingling Moms | Rhode Island Photography

Wow.  It’s been over a month since I blogged.  Woooow.  A little down time for me to take care of some issues including some serious pain in my shoulders (kinda difficult to have when you are a photographer) and then some more down time while strep throat made it’s way through our entire family.  But I am BACK today.  And all week.  After this week, eh, we’ll see.  ;)

Two weeks ago, before strep came to visit, I had the delight of photographing a special event put together by Rhody Mamas, Bellani Maternity and Kayleigh’s Klippies called Mingling Moms.  The idea?  To get a bunch of RI moms and mommies-to-be together for an evening of socializing, shopping and a few other good things.  It was held at Bellani Maternity down in Warwick so I got all dolled up and headed down for the evening.  There were adorable hair clips, wine, makeovers, giveaways – a fabulous Sunday evening all the way around.  I know that Jen and Audrey are planning some more events down the road so if you are a Rhode Island mom, you’ll definitely want to go follow their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rhodymamas) for more info!Rhode Island PhotographyRhode Island PhotographyRhode Island Photography

Veronica | Rhode Island Baby Photography

I will be pretty sad when Veronica gets bigger.  Or, actually, when her parents sell their place.  It has this great blue wall with a white coverlet on the bed and the perfect window…sigh.  I used it for their clean and simple newborn photos HERE and then again this past weekend when we visited.  It’s great to work with friends – you just tell them “Actually I want her undressed on your pretty white blanket”  And they say “Okay!”  (Fine, if we’re being honest I would say it to a client as well.  But it’s a lot more comfortable when it’s friends.)  We went back to visit John and Rachel and see “baby Veronica” as my daughter calls her.  My has she changed!!  So much bigger with the most adorable little rolls.  I think she is just about the cutest seven month old on the planet.   No, I’m not biased at all!!!!  ;)  But can you honestly look at these and tell me she isn’t?  Those cheeks, that dusting of red hair, those lips GAH!!  Perfection!  We even got to go outside for a few minutes and use the pram that was Rachel’s when *she* was a baby.  I have had plans for that since I saw it at her shower.  Ideally it would have been about 60 degrees warmer but I’ll take what I can.  She is perfect as are her mommy and daddy.  Much love to you guys!!  (And just remember, I need a blue wall in the new place, too.)
