Newborn Session Rhode Island | Jackson
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing sweet little Jackson’s newborn session at just 10 days of age. He was the first baby I photographed after everything shut down for Covid. In fact, my client consultation at his house before the session was the first time I left my house after lockdown started!! His parents had chosen to do a Storyteller Session which was fantastic because it allowed them to comfortably choose a hands-off session. Doing the session almost entirely lifestyle was perfect and helped allay their fears.
We began the session outside in their backyard. I love finding pretty spots outside to use whenever possible in a newborn session! It’s not often people think about going outside with their newborn which is why I love asking. After that we came back inside for some images in their adorable sailing themed nursery. As with all sessions, the baby runs the show. So we stopped as needed for some quiet feeding time and snuggles when he got upset. Those allowed for beautiful quiet images of mom and baby – some of my favorites. I love to take my time with each parent separately. I find it gives them time in front of the camera to focus on just their baby and ignore everything else.
Once we finished with family images, it was time for Jackson to have his own images. Under my direction mom and dad were the perfect assistants! Their help allowed me to continue my hands off work, which allowed them to continue feeling comfortable with their decision to do a newborn session with me. The ultimate goal <3
