Sweetness | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

As you may remember from my earlier post, I had the opportunity while in the Outer Banks to do not only a family session but a newborn session as well.  We had an opportunity to see one of (I believe) the top newborn photographers in the country at work because our friend and hostess was the FABULOUS Amber Scruggs of Little Moon Photography.  This gorgeous little peanut was all of 8 days old when we got our hands on her.  Totally beautiful, with perfect features and newborn skin.  Considering she came to our little workshop as part of a casting call, we could not believe how lucky we had gotten when we saw her.  Just perfect!!!  I didn’t take too many shots but did get a few in there 🙂  Again, with 11 shooters, it wasn’t the easiest!  Just for fun, here is what the situation was:

It’s ON!! | Philadelphia Family Photography

Freebie Friday! Err, Monday! | Providence Photography

Shining Through | Providence Photography

Every once in a while someone will ask me what my style of photography is and my response is always that I am photojournalistic with a little bit of portrait thrown in.  Look at my tagline – Life. Laughter. Love. Emotion. Family.  That sums me up perfectly.  I have said it before and will say it again, I love capturing the emotion and the moments between family members.  I don’t go for the “look straight at my camera and smile” though I always throw a little bit of that in there, especially for the grandparents.  But overall, that is not me.  If you want studio looks and poses keep looking 🙂  It can be a struggle to stay 100% true to my style when working with a client but I feel that my more recent sessions have been much more me.

While in the Outer Banks I got the opportunity to photograph a truly delightful family.  A. is another member of our photography board that happened to be vacationing in the same area we were, so we recruited them for an evening beach session.  Through the madness of eleven of us (yes, you read that right, eleven) shooting them at the same time, I got to shoot for myself.  I got to have fun, relax and shoot the way I want to.  Completely, one hundred percent my way.

What is my style, you ask?  Who am I, truly?  Take a look.  These photos, this session, are totally and completely me.  This is my love, my joy and my style. Shining through.
