My Turn | Rhode Island Kids Photography
Okay, a misnomer. Not *my* turn, but my kids. With shoulder surgery looming in less than three weeks and my schedule completely full, it occurred to me that I had NO idea when I would be able to get the kids out for our holiday photos.
Today didn’t work out like I planned at all. I had visions of perfect outfits and the ideal location. Instead, my husband was (finally) closing the pool, my shoulder was absolutely killing me, we were muddy from being outside, my son was still wearing his soccer shorts and my daughter was covered in every food she had eaten today and wayyy too much pink of her choosing. But the light – ah the light was gorgeous (as was the weather!). Although the house being surrounded by woods is a pain in the butt when it comes to raking, it turns out it can make for a beautiful backdrop on a whim. Who knew?? These are so far from warbrobe and planning perfect. And knowing myself, I am sure I will go back out later in the week with them dressed in my “vision” but for today…these are total perfection. (Plus, let’s face it, with how many sessions I have been doing I’ve been getting a little burned out and it was good to shoot for myself for 20 minutes)

Chase – 9 Days old | Rhode Island Newborn Photography
When mom emailed to let me know that she was pregnant with baby number 2, I got super super excited. And fine, I will totally admit that it was because we got dad to take off his shirt and do a shot with his first daughter and his amazing tattoo on his arm. Still one of my favorites. This time around, it was a precious little boy. But dad still took his shirt off. But adding to that shot that I fell in love with, I also had big sister M. to work with this time. Now, as I said in my Facebook post, you never know what you are going to get with toddler siblings. That shot of a toddler and a newborn can be one of the THE hardest shots ever. Thankfully though, M just adored her new baby brother, as you can tell. <3 The entire family, I think, was smitten and it’s easy to see why! I am including just a few extras with this sneak peek. (I think not being able to share more shots from my holiday minis has gotten to me!) Enjoy the photos, V. family. I hope I lived up to expectations again!!
