I got to photograph sweet, gorgeous, perfect Baby E this morning. You may remember her mama’s maternity picture HERE. Baby E arrived just a few weeks early and at 8 days old was absolutely perfect from head to toe. (And a complete dream to work with!!) She was so teeny in my hands, I found it impossible to believe that both of my children were ever possibly that small, even though they were both actually even smaller. Mom had a particular request for a shot with angel wings and went out and bought some of her own when I told her I didn’t have any. I know she was really looking forward to this shot so I couldn’t make her wait. With the curtains and the lighting and the blanket and everything all together, it just looks, well, angelic.

Crescent Park Cuties | Providence Family Photography

I’m not supposed to have favorites. I know I’m not. Really, I do know that. But I just can’t help it. My last three sessions have possibly been my favorites that I have ever, EVER done. Two sessions ago it was my favorite Philly family on my last shoot there. Last session was my ADORABLE maternity. And today my new Providence family. Possibly my favorite favorite, but again, I’m not supposed to have favorites. But you can judge for yourselves.

I met up with Lynn and Jim and their GORGEOUS little girls, C. and G. this afternoon for the continuation of their photo session with my new lens. Jim and Lynn own the fabulous Seven Stars Bakery here in Providence. Since I am new, it’s new to me but is pretty well known to others in the area. (In fact I’ve hear it’s very delicious so I am stopping in to buy some bread this week for our family vacation to the beach!) I was SO pleased that Lynn contacted me for photos of her family, especially since I am the new gal in town, the unknown! I had an absolutely crazy fun time during their session. We started with some photos down by the water at the beautiful Crescent Park in Riverside and then, after a quick outfit change, did some photos up in the park above the water. There was a lot of being VERY silly, lots of funny noises, funny faces, lots and lots of moving around and LOTS of fun. Gosh I love my job even if it does leave me a little more sore as I get older.

I know Lynn already checked once for a sneak peek, so here you go!! And I’m sharing a lot here. Not because it’s my favorite. No, not at all. Because I can because, well, I own this blog.

Art Museum Cutie | Philadelphia Family Photography

S. and N. met me at the Art Museum Sunday morning for some pictures of K. As I said in yesterday’s post, three of the four families have either been using me since maternity, or since the child was a baby. K. was one where we started off when he was just eight or so months old! (In fact that first session I think we hung out drinking coffee and talking more than shooting!) And now he is a running, jumping, laughing, adorable two year old. This is my fourth session with the family and every time I swear he just gets cuter and cuter!! We had a great time and did a LOT of walking. I saw parts of the Art Museum area I didn’t know existed! We played in fountains and wishing wells and sang songs and tickled. Because of the early start we also basically had the museum to ourselves which allowed me to grab the first photo – and as you can see, the sky was SUCH a gorgeous blue for part of the shoot as well.

S. and N. thank you SO much for inviting me into your lives all of these times. I have had a BLAST hanging out with you and watching K. grow with you. I hope I have been able to capture him the way that you see him

Growing up

Well, this was my last weekend shooting sessions in Philadelphia. I can’t believe it – it has come so quickly!!! I was so excited when I realized that three out of my four sessions this weekend were clients that I had either photographed since they were pregnant or since their child was just a baby. It is one of the highest compliments to a photographer when your clients want you to keep coming back and photographing their family. And I feel so SO honored that so many people have chosen me to document points in their lives. Watching a child grow up through the lens is one of the top five reasons I love love LOVE my job.

I also got to photograph little A. right after he was born.

And to start my weekend, we went back to the place we did the majority of their maternity shoot and I got to photograph A. at just over six months old. He is growing into SUCH a beautiful boy with eyes just to die for. I also got what I think is one of my most favorite shots ever with K. and A. K. and D. thank you so much for making me a part of your lives over the past year.

The Grange with E. and E. | Philadelphia Family Photography

Have you ever met an almost-four year old that not only knows Mamma Mia but can sing you the overture to the song and keep the rhythm clapping on his hands? I have now!! I met the L. family at the Grange in Haverford for their photo session Sunday afternoon. After having to reschedule last week due to storms I was worried we would get rained out again but instead we had some beautiful (but muggy!) overcast weather to shoot in. E. and E. did great and I got some really fun photos. And E. can really sing Mamma Mia and little E. just dances and wiggles away while her big brother sings – SO cute! So there was a lot of singing, a lot of peekaboo, a lot of being silly – in other words, a typical Amy Ro session! M. and T. it was so great to meet you guys and thanks for letting me photograph your little family!!
