Handsome Twin Boys

I traveled out to Massachusetts last week to meet these handsome twin boys for their newborn session. Although I normally shoot newborn sessions under the age of three weeks, due to being a few weeks early, Brody and Ryder were seven weeks old when we got together. Twins are a special kind of shoot because, most obviously, there are two babies and not one! Besides that though, there can be a very different dynamic within families when twins are present. Sometimes, it can be a lot more difficult on the parents and the session can be a lot more intense. With Rose and Rich, however, it was like coming home to visit family. They were SO so well adapted to the babies and worked as such a loving, cohesive unit, it was awesome. We took a much more relaxed lifestyle approach to the session, doing a bunch of photos outside in the yard (yay for warm October weather!) and in their house although we did (of course!) have to do some photos of just them. The photo of Ryder holding his brother Brody’s hand just melted my heart. Even big fur-brother Burton got in a few shots! They clearly adore these little guys and it was a privilege to be able to photograph this family and their love for their new(est) babies. I had SO so much fun – here are a few favorites from our session together. Enjoy!

Waiting on Baby Sister Maternity

Maternity sessions are one of my favorite kinds to shoot – especially when it’s a family I’ve known for so long waiting for their newest little girl <3 This is my fifth or sixth session with these guys now and every time I have just walked away in awe of their beauty and their love for one another. I’ve been photographing them since their first was a newborn four and a half years ago and then some family sessions over the years since then. The last time I saw them was last holiday season and since then they’ve had a big change – they’re growing to a family of four! Ashley and family met me in a field local to me in Massachusetts for some photos a few weeks ago. Although I normally shoot maternity sessions between 32-34 weeks, Ashley was 37 weeks at the time of our session and I think you can agree, looked AMAZING!!! I love love love what we got and how with the changing light we were able to do photos that look so completely different just by turning around, waiting a little bit and walking further down trails. These are hands-down some of my favorite maternity images I’ve ever done so you can understand I’m sharing quite a few. Here are a few of my favorites from our session together – enjoy!

Adorable Cumberland Family

I can’t say enough about this adorable family from my town of Cumberland. I have known them for going on four years now since our kids have been in school together the whole time. I joke that we can just marry them to each other and keep things really simple! That’s because Karen and Justin are amazing, awesome parents and their kids are amazing, awesome kids. This was a bit different for me because I wasn’t spending time at their house or seeing them at a school event. Instead I was on my own with all four of them – and I was in charge 😉 We had a great time and like most of my family sessions I found out they are even more goofy when you get them out to a new place and just concentrate on having fun! For this session I took them to Joe’s Rock in Wrentham, Massachusetts which is a great little area just over the border from Cumberland. Although it’s possible I did fall down a hill during our session and shatter my lens filter, thankfully I was able to continue and get some more great shots! Providence Urban Family Photography

My second family photography session during my day of Urban Mini Shoots in downtown Providence is a family I’ve worked with a few times now. The first time was during mom’s maternity session with the younger sister, and then again at her newborn session and then last year for some family photography for holiday photos. I love when clients return over time and use me for their family photography sessions- it is such an honor to get to photograph them at different points and watch their families grow!!! This year our sessions was wonderful – we walked around a bit down by the Providence River and spent some time over at the railing with the city in the background. And again, I used the bridges. What can I say? I love bridges. I also have a family shot from this session that I LOVE but that will have to wait until after the holidays to share as I don’t have permission from mom yet 😉 S. & A. were delights to photograph and I fell in love with S’s wrinkly nose smile!! And big sister, well she is just growing and growing – such a beauty with those blue eyes <3 Even mom and dad got in on some solo shot action – yes, again I made them kiss. I love love LOVE the shot of them in black and white with the tall buildings behind them!! Side note – if you come to do family photography with me, be prepared to kiss everyone. I love kisses!!
