I was so excited to meet sweet Grace last week! I did her big brother’s newborn session about 20 months ago so it was such a treat to go back and meet his new little sister. She was just perfect, even if we did have to wait an extra week and do the session at 17 days old. <3 She is clearly a very loved little girl…
When Audrey first contacted me about a maternity session, it is entirely possible I did a little happy dance in my chair in my office. Not only is Audrey very awesome and cool, but she and her family are, let’s face it, gorgeous, fun people. With four boys 8 and under I knew it was going to be a GREAT shoot, and they did not disappoint Audrey had everyone decked out in pink, which went perfectly with our park and beach locations, because after four incredibly handsome boys, this family is finally expecting a baby girl!! We were able to get so many shots, even if the sun did not cooperate with us, dropping behind clouds as soon as we set foot near the water. It was amazing to witness, first hand, this family of six about to become seven… I even had a total stranger stop and tell me how happy they were that they had stayed long enough to see “this beautiful sight on the beach”. 🙂 Here are some of my favorites from that day. I can’t wait for the newborn!!!!!
The last mini session of the weekend was with a family that has been on here several times. 🙂 This time it was to mark little brother Max’s first birthday (coming up wayyyyy too quickly). He has gotten so big since the last time I saw him:
That same sweet little thing has turned into this big, smiling, happy kid. Again, it just strikes me how lucky I am to watch these families grow through my lens. What an amazing privilege to be invited into their lives to capture these moments for them over and over. (Yes, I am slightly emotional) Although this shoot was mainly for Max, we also got mom, dad and big brother in a few photos this time as well – how could I not???
One of the parts I love about my job is the longevity of it. So many people are setting up shop right and left around here…but I’ve been photographing for six years. Six years 🙂 Almost four of those years have now been here in Rhode Island, and I am so so lucky and love that several people have hired me again and again for their family photos. In fact, all of my mini session families were on at least their third shoot with me. The second family was no exception. The first time I did photos with the R family, mom was newly pregnant with little sister. And now, four shoots later, here we are. I have loved watching them grow – it is so neat to see them change though my lens over time. Although we didn’t get dad in any of those photos (next time!!) it was great to mark not only how they have grown but also these last few days before they welcome daughter number two.
