Growing up

Well, this was my last weekend shooting sessions in Philadelphia.  I can’t believe it – it has come so quickly!!!  I was so excited when I realized that three out of my four sessions this weekend were clients that I had either photographed since they were pregnant or since their child was just a baby.  It is one of the highest compliments to a photographer when your clients want you to keep coming back and photographing their family.  And I feel so SO honored that so many people have chosen me to document points in their lives.  Watching a child grow up through the lens is one of the top five reasons I love love LOVE my job.

K. is a member of my photo board that I first met back when she was pregnant and I did her maternity shoot…you may remember these shots

I also got to photograph little A. right after he was born.

And to start my weekend, we went back to the place we did the majority of their maternity shoot and I got to photograph A. at just over six months old. He is growing into SUCH a beautiful boy with eyes just to die for. I also got what I think is one of my most favorite shots ever with K. and A. K. and D. thank you so much for making me a part of your lives over the past year. 🙂

The Grange with E. and E. | Philadelphia Family Photography

Have you ever met an almost-four year old that not only knows Mamma Mia but can sing you the overture to the song and keep the rhythm clapping on his hands? I have now!! I met the L. family at the Grange in Haverford for their photo session Sunday afternoon. After having to reschedule last week due to storms I was worried we would get rained out again but instead we had some beautiful (but muggy!) overcast weather to shoot in. E. and E. did great and I got some really fun photos. And E. can really sing Mamma Mia and little E. just dances and wiggles away while her big brother sings – SO cute! So there was a lot of singing, a lot of peekaboo, a lot of being silly – in other words, a typical Amy Ro session! M. and T. it was so great to meet you guys and thanks for letting me photograph your little family!!

I love everything about this picture – it is totally him 🙂

As I posted yesterday, I spent Saturday morning with the adorable little L and her mom and dad in Rittenhouse.  The square is very meaningful for them as they have lived there for several years now and spend a lot of time there. They even got engaged in the park, so it was really neat to be able to come full circle and do pictures with their daughter. We even got some pictures (see #1) on pretty much the exact spot that C. proposed. We sang lots of songs, played with lots of squeaky toys (highly recommend them for babies and toddlers!!), visited their favorite book store and did a lot of people watching. I feel truly lucky to have been able to photograph this adorable little family, they are clearly very in love with both each other and their little girl. So S. and C. thanks for letting me share in family time and capture some glimpses of your lives. I hope that these are all that you were hoping they would be.

So in the continuation of my post from yesterday 🙂 Z. and his parents met me out at Swarthmore for some family photos early Saturday morning. Although the weather was not the best, it was perfect for photos and in one of my favorite locations!! I hadn’t shot there in over a year but it was just as beautiful as I remembered. We had lots of fun singing songs, dancing, making funny noises with our mouths, eating cracker sticks and looking to see who was living in my camera. Z. did great after a slight warming up period and I had so much fun getting to know him and his mom and dad. M. & M. hope you enjoy the sneak peek and I hope Z enjoyed his apple dippers 🙂 They were well deserved!!

I started photographing S. when he just was three months old.  He was my baby planner – photos at 3, 6, 9 and then 12 months.  Unfortunately we had to keep putting off the 12 month photos but now that he is 21 months we finally were able to get together.  I feel as though R & S have really become friends over the past year and a half and I look forward to every time I get to photograph their beautiful family.  I have captured some wonderful and amazing images in our sessions… This time we took it downtown to the Independence Hall area.  I could not believe how much S. had changed – from a baby to a boy.  And I feel SO lucky to have had the privilege to capture those moments for his family.

My how things have changed 🙂

Some fun and funky urban editing but it really appealed to me – doesn’t it look like a magazine ad? 🙂
