Mini Sessions Part 3 | Rhode Island Family Photography

The last mini session of the weekend was with a family that has been on here several times. 🙂 This time it was to mark little brother Max’s first birthday (coming up wayyyyy too quickly). He has gotten so big since the last time I saw him:

That same sweet little thing has turned into this big, smiling, happy kid. Again, it just strikes me how lucky I am to watch these families grow through my lens. What an amazing privilege to be invited into their lives to capture these moments for them over and over. (Yes, I am slightly emotional) Although this shoot was mainly for Max, we also got mom, dad and big brother in a few photos this time as well – how could I not???

Spring Minis Part 2 | Rhode Island Family Photography

One of the parts I love about my job is the longevity of it. So many people are setting up shop right and left around here…but I’ve been photographing for six years. Six years 🙂 Almost four of those years have now been here in Rhode Island, and I am so so lucky and love that several people have hired me again and again for their family photos. In fact, all of my mini session families were on at least their third shoot with me. The second family was no exception. The first time I did photos with the R family, mom was newly pregnant with little sister. And now, four shoots later, here we are. I have loved watching them grow – it is so neat to see them change though my lens over time. Although we didn’t get dad in any of those photos (next time!!) it was great to mark not only how they have grown but also these last few days before they welcome daughter number two.

Throwback Thursday – The C Family | Rhode Island Family Photography

Yes, I totally just made that blog title up as I was sitting here. But hey, it sounded pretty good! I have decided to start reviewing some past sessions that never got blogged here for some reason. Probably the insanity of going out for shoulder surgery would be my guess. 😉 Today we are starting with one of my favorite people and families, as well as one of my favorite sessions. Ever. If you have followed my work for, oh, three years, you know that I have done SEVERAL sessions for Dani and Steve. And now, their family sesion from last Fall. Whew. Man do I love these guys 🙂

We met up at Crane Farm in Lincoln just about exactly an hour before sunset which I knew would provide some amazing rich saturated colors as well as some very contrasty light and dark shots with the cloud cover we had. Dani had said she wanted a very specific look for her photos that day and had planned outfits down to every last detail. That combined with an awesome family, some super yummy light, an amazing location and great colors…well…sit back and enjoy 🙂
