Handsome newborn baby boy

Last week I headed up to Massachusetts to photograph handsome newborn boy Mason at just two weeks of age.  He was such a beautiful baby with a head of great dark hair and perfect skin.  All of which I got to photograph in the best place ever – his home!   I absolutely LOVE that I don’t shoot studio sessions but instead travel to people’s homes.  The homes that they have created and brought their babies home to.  Otherwise I would have missed those last two shots of them in their son’s beautiful nursery, and I would never have been able to get Sadie, their four year old golden retriever into the pictures.  We did some more traditional baby only shots on a beanbag of course but I have to say, as gorgeous as those shots are, the images with his mom and dad – those are what make my heart happy.  And hopefully I’ve made their hearts happy, too.   Here are a few favorites from our session together – enjoy!

Handsome baby boy

I met this handsome baby boy when he was just a few weeks old for his newborn session.  For his shoot we did just the beanbag, no lifestyle or family shots.  He was complete perfection with beautiful lips and eyes and skin.  So so very precious <3  I love working with them when they’re this young and so bendy and adorable!!Newborn boy curled on blue blanket during a lifestyle newborn session in Rhode Island

Sweet baby girl

Gorgeous Twin Lifestyle Newborn Session

Last week I headed out to Milton, Massachusetts for this gorgeous twin lifestyle newborn session.  I did big sister’s newborn session about twenty months ago.  This time I was heading out to welcome her new little brother and sister into the family.  And what precious little things they were!!  Sal, weighing in just around 5 pounds, and Josephine slightly bigger at seven pounds, exactly two weeks old.  We stayed only in the living room for this session and it was absolutely perfect!  Families often worry that their homes aren’t going to be in ideal shape just after babies but they always are!!!  We make it work no matter what.  This window-filled cozy area was perfect for all of their shots.  I got so many that I just adore of them snuggled up together.  <3  Here are a few favorites from my session with them – enjoy!

Lifestyle Newborn Session

Lifestyle newborn sessions are among my absolute favorite kind of session to shoot.  I love the beanbag and blankets and hats.  But I simply adore photographing a family in the home that they have brought their new baby to.  To capture those moments in their life – that is the absolute best.  So when Jeni contacted me to come and do a lifestyle newborn session for their newest little girl, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.  (Not that I would have anyways – Jeni and family are pretty awesome.)  Four years ago, I did big sister’s newborn session so it was wonderful to come back and see how they had grown into a beautiful family of four. <3  Big sister absolutely adores her little sister which you can see in one of my favorite sibling images EVER below.  Seeing this family all together made my heart so very, very happy.
