Handsome Twin Boys

I traveled out to Massachusetts last week to meet these handsome twin boys for their newborn session.  Although I normally shoot newborn sessions under the age of three weeks, due to being a few weeks early, Brody and Ryder were seven weeks old when we got together.  Twins are a special kind of shoot because, most obviously, there are two babies and not one!  Besides that though, there can be a very different dynamic within families when twins are present.  Sometimes, it can be a lot more difficult on the parents and the session can be a lot more intense.  With Rose and Rich, however, it was like coming home to visit family.  They were SO so well adapted to the babies and worked as such a loving, cohesive unit, it was awesome.   We took a much more relaxed lifestyle approach to the session, doing a bunch of photos outside in the yard (yay for warm October weather!) and in their house although we did (of course!) have to do some photos of just them.  The photo of Ryder holding his brother Brody’s hand just melted my heart.  Even big fur-brother Burton got in a few shots!  They clearly adore these little guys and it was a privilege to be able to photograph this family and their love for their new(est) babies. I had SO so much fun – here are a few favorites from our session together.  Enjoy!

Austin and Abigail | 13 days – Rhode Island Newborn Photography

Just under two weeks ago I headed over to meet Jen and EJ’s newest little babies – Austin and Abigail.  Having already photographed big brother when he was a newborn, it was such a huge delight to go back and photograph these newest arrivals!!  At just under two weeks they were a dream to work with – as was big brother.  He was seriously one of THE BEST toddler siblings I have ever ever ever worked with.  He was so good, he clearly adores his new brother and sister  🙂  I know mom and dad have been waiting for these patiently while I was away on vacation so without further ado…

Felix – 8 Days | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

I first met the D. family a few years ago when big brother was only a little 7 month old and since then we’ve met up two other times for two other sessions, including a maternity session a short while ago…

And then…well then gorgeous baby Felix was born.  Being my fourth session with this family, along with having had dad in one of my classes that I teach, I already had a wonderful bond with them.  There is something about being continuously invited into people’s lives – I’ve said it before – it is such an amazing feeling.  You get to know them so well and hanging out with them never feels like work.  It’s more like fun (especially when you get to play Buttons and Bugs on mom’s iphone with big brother while waiting for a nursing baby! 😉 )  I know mom especially has been excited for these, so no more talking.  They know how much I adore them all.  Onto the photos!!

Ema 10 Days | Rhode Island Newborn Photography

A few days before Christmas I set off for the day to Connecticut to photograph adorable 10 day old Ema.  I also did big sister’s newborn session in July of last year (see HERE).  Mom was, up until they moved to Connecticut a few weeks ago, both a friend and my OB-Gyn (and my husband’s coworker in his old practice).  So we have lots of connections.  🙂  Ema was just about perfection as was big sister.  Although not too keen on getting her picture taken with just her new sister, we did get some adorable family shots.  And of course, my favorite – mom and dad shots too.  Love love love everything we got!!!

Gannon – 17 days | Connecticut Newborn Photography

If you had told me that we could do a newborn session in early October in Connecticut and the weather would be gorgeous enough we could do all of the family shots outside – with mom in a tank top nonetheless, I probably would have laughed at you.  But as it so happened, the day I went to meet 17 day old Gannon, we weather was absolute perfection.  Combine that with a gorgeous family and an amazing backyard and, well, you can see the results.  I normally include a few black and white images in a newborn sneak peek but with all of this beautiful, rich fall color, I just couldn’t do it!  You first saw Ana HERE with her boys when they came to the city for her maternity.  Six weeks later, meet the new, very loving, very happy family of five.  Connecticut newborn photographer serving New Haven and surrounding areas creates stunning image of mom and newborn in the woods with fall colors.
