“We love his hair!  Here’s a brush for you to use to make it all spiky and fun!”  And that was the moment I knew I would love them.  Actually, that’s kind of a lie.  I knew I would love them the moment I got the first very excited, very enthusiastic email.   Generally you can tell a lot from the tone of an email.  And I could tell right from the first contact that Franklin and his moms were very excited for photos.  (Okay, probably not Franklin since he was only 11 days old but you get my meaning.)  So after discussing a few different dates since their little guy was already here, I packed up and headed up into Massachusetts for his newborn session this past Wednesday.  He was an absolute doll to photograph weighing in just under ten pounds with awesome hair (two babies in a row!) and a great sleeper.  Even though both A & M said they wanted it to be more about the baby than them, they did jump in a few photos with their little guy.  AND as a result I got what is, to date, one of my top three favorite photos EVER – though I am not sure they even knew I was shooting. And that is what makes it so good – that raw, honest emotion and tenderness.  ::melt::  So, meet Franklin!Beautiful newborn portrait in Rhode IslandEyelash newborn shotNewborn baby boy on blue blanketBeautiful lesbian family newborn imageBlack and white newborn image in Massachusetts

A&M you already know how I feel about you guys so I’ll just say again, enjoy him and enjoy this time 🙂

I met this beautiful mama-to-be on Saturday evening for her maternity shoot.  She had picked a location I had never been to before – Purgatory Chasm up in Sutton, MA.  It was GORGEOUS!  Apparently plenty of other people have heard of it as it was packed with visitors but she did great, hiking up and down rocks and waiting people out.  I was quite impressed.  I don’t think at 35 weeks pregnant I wanted to be anywhere near boulders.  Or hiking.  Or walking. 😉  I can’t wait to meet their little girl in a few weeks!!!Maternity session on rocksMaternity image with pink sneakersMaternity couple posingPink maternity sweater posing with rocks

After a few delays due to strep throat running rampant through the family, I finally got out to meet this sweet fifteen day old baby girl on Saturday morning.  If her family looks familiar it is because I did a regular family session for them back in the fall when mom was just barely pregnant.  And now they are four.  🙂  Hadley was absolutely beautiful and one of my squishier newborns at ten pounds AND she had a full head of hair!! ::love::  I love all of my newborns at all sizes but something about the bigger ones just melts my heart.  Big sister did great, you can tell she loves having a real live baby to play with in the house – and mom and dad were so loving with the two of them.  Of course dad has quite the work cut out for him down the road being outnumbered three to one with two gorgeous daughters!  (I should give him my dad’s phone number since it was the same in my house!)

S. family it was great to see you again and see how you have grown into this gorgeous little family of four.

🙂

Wow.  It’s been over a month since I blogged.  Woooow.  A little down time for me to take care of some issues including some serious pain in my shoulders (kinda difficult to have when you are a photographer) and then some more down time while strep throat made it’s way through our entire family.  But I am BACK today.  And all week.  After this week, eh, we’ll see.  😉

Two weeks ago, before strep came to visit, I had the delight of photographing a special event put together by Rhody Mamas, Bellani Maternity and Kayleigh’s Klippies called Mingling Moms.  The idea?  To get a bunch of RI moms and mommies-to-be together for an evening of socializing, shopping and a few other good things.  It was held at Bellani Maternity down in Warwick so I got all dolled up and headed down for the evening.  There were adorable hair clips, wine, makeovers, giveaways – a fabulous Sunday evening all the way around.  I know that Jen and Audrey are planning some more events down the road so if you are a Rhode Island mom, you’ll definitely want to go follow their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rhodymamas) for more info!Rhode Island PhotographyRhode Island PhotographyRhode Island Photography

This gorgeous girl and her mama met me for some photos this past week downtown.  Little O. was just so stinking cute.  I seriously want to go buy some outfits I’ve had my eye on and take her around the city to model for me.  Is she not one of the most gorgeous little girls you’ve ever seen??  And she had this really special bond with her mommy that just absolutely shines in the photos; I so loved watching the two of them interact.  We had fun dancing to Lady Gaga and making wonderful fools of ourselves right in the middle of downtown.  😉  But it was all worth it!Beautiful african american toddler outdoorsMixed race mother and daughter photoToddler girl in white furry dressMommy and daughter shotsMommy and daughter, caucasian and african american

It was SO great to meet you guys.  Enjoy each other – these days will go by SO quickly!!  🙂
