Every time I opened an image to edit from this session I just kept saying “Oh my God he is so adorable!”  Over and over.  I met up with little J. and his mom and dad to try our session again since he had been feeling under the weather the last time.  This time, total 180.  He was feeling great and was absolutely perfect.  He was all grins and giggles, telling me and mom and dad what to do and where to go.  We jumped, we sang, we played peekaboo – it was pretty awesome.  I am so happy he was himself this time because he really was just 100% adorable!!

On Tuesday of this week I got to go meet the gorgeous B. for her newborn session.  At 9lbs 5oz she was far bigger than the recent newborns I have had and I loved every second of it!!  There is something so precious about chubby sweet smelling newborn.  Just perfection.  She was a great sleeper and even when she was awake, she just loved to stare at mom and dad and have her head and arms rubbed. 🙂  So, so cute!!  It was finally warm enough to go outside for a bit at the very end of the session – something I hope to do more often with newborns in the coming months!  Congrats J and J, she is adorable and I loved meeting you guys!

Little Stars, Big Dreams Gala | Rhode Island Photography

Last Friday evening I had the opportunity to photograph a wonderful event.  A fundraiser gala put on by Sweet Peas Village of East Greenwich that was benefitting Children’s Wishes (click on either of those names to learn more).  It was held at the gorgeous Bistro 9 restaurant right in East Greenwich on the golf course.  Not only was it an amazing undertaking by the committee that planned it, it was beautifully set up by Bistro 9 and so so generously donated to by over 30 different groups.  There was autographed memorabilia (Boston of course!!), fishing trips, golf outings, spa treatments, wine baskets, photography services, lots and lots of things.  Altogether, the event raised $15,000 – a wonderful amount to help the children of Rhode Island!!

First, three of the amazing women who put together the event.  (There were a few others involved, but at the time this image was taken only three were present.)

I’m not sharing images of the gala itself because I don’t have image releases, but I thought I would at least share the amazing venue:

What a Difference a Year Makes | Connecticut Family Photography

You might remember this shot from last year.  I loved it, it made the top 12 of my year in fact.

Well what a difference one year can make!!  I went back to Connecticut to visit Liz and Sean and catch up with baby J.  He’s a bit bigger now as you can see…

We started at the house specifically for the tree shot and a few additional ones and then went to gorgeous Wickham Park where Sean and Liz got married a few years ago.  Absolutely stunning scenery – coupled with the fact that they were coming back for pictures with their child – all made for an amazing time.  🙂  Even though little J. had been too excited for the session to nap fully, he did a great job all the way through the end!!

Please note that the last shot in this series is due to the magic of photo editing.  Never ever set a small child on a ledge over water and walk away.  Mom was right there next to him and was edited out in post-processing.
