After a referral from a mutual photographer friend, I met up with K. and her adorable twelve week old son, J. last week for some family photos. J. is quite possibly one of the cutest, happiest twelve week olds I have ever seen. And my favorite part as the momma of a chunkamunk – he is a nice solid baby just like I loooove. Beautiful big lips and full cheeks, and he was a dream to work with. He let me do whatever I wanted, was content inside and outside, dressed and undressed, he was just SO cute. We did a bunch of shots of just him and some of him and mom and after a little while dad and his big sisters joined us for some family shots. We got a great range and he was the perfect trooper throughout!
Now this is a tough time of year for sneak peaks — I have to pick and choose carefully what I am showing since I know they are planning on some shots for holiday cards. So you are not going to see any of the fabulous family shots or the shots I got of J. smiling because I don’t want to ruin their surprise for friends and family. But I did throw in a few extras for this sneak peek to make up for it. 😉

L.O.V.E.D. loved his nursery. It was a complete baseball theme done by the family as a present for K. and L. You’ll have to trust me, but it looks like something out of a Pottery Barn Kids catalog. Absolutely gorgeous. I am having visions of J. standing in his crib with his name plaque behind him, or sitting where he is laying on this shelf or under the gorgeous baseball quote that is on his wall. Yes, I always plan future client shoots when I am at their session. Totally normal…right?

Gorgeous big sisters. I told them I am going to come back and shoot them separately for my portfolio. Not kidding.

Dad is totally enamored of his little boy. And being a wrestling coach he is quite solid himself so it’s really cute to see him holding this (okay, not too teeny) baby.

And I end with gorgeous mom and one of my favorite momma – baby moments that I have ever caught. You guys know I am all about getting the emotion of the moment. I adore posed shots. But the looks like in the last shot, I really live for that. Anyone who has had a child remembers these moments, where it is just you and your child and you look into their eyes and it’s almost like the rest of the world just fades away for a moment. And you ARE each other’s world.

Thanks for having me, K. and family, I had a blast!! I’ll be in touch soon!

So no client work today, though that is coming. As well as another episode of What to Wear. And a Ten on Something. Today, though, you get my Laynie-girl. She has sprouted two more teeth (thank GOD that is over, she was pretty miserable and unbearable for such a cute little thing). And she has started pulling up and cruising on everything. She walks clear across the room, and quickly, if she is holding someone’s hands and will do laps with her push toy all by herself. Have I mentioned she’s not even 11 months yet?? Her brother didn’t walk until 15 months so this is quite the change for us.
Anyways, back to the point. I brought both of them out for some photos the other late afternoon. My idea was to get Christmas card shots and gift shots. My children apparently had other intentions for our time together, though I did get a few good ones. This was my last shot of our 15 minute session. Yes, you read that right – they gave me 15 whole minutes. Really, Nolan gave me two, but she couldn’t move too well in the grass so she had to deal with me. If you’ve been here before, you’ve seen her hair. Her wild, crazy, untamed hair. I discovered, however, that in the setting sun it takes on a whole new life. I love this little chunkamunk cutie SO much. 😀 Crazy hair and all.

Yup, that is what I am right now, especially today. Two shoots today so no blog post. But tomorrow, I promise. Tomorrow! 🙂

Borderland with B. | Massachusetts Family Photography
I met up with the beautiful little B. and her family for the completion of her session up at Borderland park on Sunday afternoon – we lost the light a little too quickly the first time around last week! She did a great job for the second time in six days – totally adorable, totally happy. Big bright blue eyes and the cutest little haircut!! There was dancing, there was singing, there was even a bit of headbanging, grunting and roaring. She was just SO pretty in her little outfits with the barrettes and the shoes – made me excited for when Layne gets a little bit bigger 🙂 And when mom smiles and when dad laughs, it totally lights up wherever they are. Even in the shot below where they are out of focus you can still see just how happy their little girl makes them and how genuine joy looks. J. and V. it was great working with you guys (again). I had the best time playing with B. and running around making a fool of myself to get the shots 🙂 Enjoy!!

All done!!!
