Beautiful Fall Family Session

I met up with this beautiful Rhode Island family a few weeks ago. We went out one lovely evening to do some holiday portraits in one of my favorite locations. After welcoming twin boys a little over three months ago, they became this awesome family of five. Big brother was so cute with the boys and seeing them all together made my heart so very happy. And not to mention, Lindsay looks amazing!! We ran through the fields and flew kids through the air. We definitely laughed and got some gorgeous, fall images. Handsome Twin Boys

I traveled out to Massachusetts last week to meet these handsome twin boys for their newborn session. Although I normally shoot newborn sessions under the age of three weeks, due to being a few weeks early, Brody and Ryder were seven weeks old when we got together. Twins are a special kind of shoot because, most obviously, there are two babies and not one! Besides that though, there can be a very different dynamic within families when twins are present. Sometimes, it can be a lot more difficult on the parents and the session can be a lot more intense. With Rose and Rich, however, it was like coming home to visit family. They were SO so well adapted to the babies and worked as such a loving, cohesive unit, it was awesome. We took a much more relaxed lifestyle approach to the session, doing a bunch of photos outside in the yard (yay for warm October weather!) and in their house although we did (of course!) have to do some photos of just them. The photo of Ryder holding his brother Brody’s hand just melted my heart. Even big fur-brother Burton got in a few shots! They clearly adore these little guys and it was a privilege to be able to photograph this family and their love for their new(est) babies. I had SO so much fun – here are a few favorites from our session together. Enjoy!

Newport Family Session

Newport. Oh you, beautiful, beautiful town. The most famous aspect of it, if you’re not familiar with it, are the Newport mansions. Driving down Bellevue Avenue looking at the houses and then taking Ocean Drive out around the water is truly one of the most breathtaking, awe-inspiring things you can do. Stunningly beautiful. That whole area of Rhode Island, in fact, is beautiful. So when my client contacted me and asked about doing a family session where they had their wedding photos done on the grounds of one of the Newport mansions, I was not going to say no. And I am so so glad I didn’t!!!! Heather had been following my work for a while and had recently moved to Rhode Island which made having a family session much easier to coordinate. Over Columbus Day weekend I headed down to Newport and we met up to do some photos on the grounds of The Waves where she and her husband had done their wedding photos 16 years prior. The owner of the property is an old family friend of Heather’s husband, who was so very, VERY gracious enough to let us use the property for photos once again and I cannot thank her enough. Heather and her family were AWESOME. Her kids are the same ages as mine almost, a 9 year old boy and a 7 year old girl. And just as outgoing and social as mine too, which was SO. Much. Fun. We discussed many important things like flag football, their dad’s hockey scars, their mom’s singing voice, and how much fun photo bombing can be when done at the right times 😉 As during any family session we did a bunch of different photos and one thing I loved is that mom brought along a nosegay made of yellow roses, like the one she carried the day of her wedding – I love the fact that we could incorporate that into the session with her daughter. Waiting on Baby Sister Maternity

Maternity sessions are one of my favorite kinds to shoot – especially when it’s a family I’ve known for so long waiting for their newest little girl <3 This is my fifth or sixth session with these guys now and every time I have just walked away in awe of their beauty and their love for one another. I’ve been photographing them since their first was a newborn four and a half years ago and then some family sessions over the years since then. The last time I saw them was last holiday season and since then they’ve had a big change – they’re growing to a family of four! Ashley and family met me in a field local to me in Massachusetts for some photos a few weeks ago. Although I normally shoot maternity sessions between 32-34 weeks, Ashley was 37 weeks at the time of our session and I think you can agree, looked AMAZING!!! I love love love what we got and how with the changing light we were able to do photos that look so completely different just by turning around, waiting a little bit and walking further down trails. These are hands-down some of my favorite maternity images I’ve ever done so you can understand I’m sharing quite a few. Here are a few of my favorites from our session together – enjoy!
